Basically, there was one main problem that created all of this. It is the same problem that lives everywhere in modern business: leaders are running businesses based on fear. Fear of failing, fear of not enough, fear of competition, fear of their own reputations, fear of blame, fear of being ridiculed, fear of their own bosses or the board, fear of losing, fear of the consequences of doing something different or standing out. The business world is run by fear. Then we really wonder why 80% of the global workforce is disengaged at work? Who can possibly feel engaged and thrive in a fear-based environment? How can we possibly make the leaps forward that we need in this setup?
